"Tyler loves wearing his glasses. His patch, however, was not his favorite. One day when he lost his patch on the playground, his teacher found a way to make him feel good about wearing it. She had all the other students in her class wear "pirates' patches". This was a big hit! Thank you from the bottom of mine and my husband's heart for this wonderful service. God Bless You."

-Jayne, Tyler's mom

Tyler is a seven-year-old boy who loves life. He is a leader in his class and everywhere he happens to be. He also had been reading since before he went to kindergarten, so naturally, his parents were surprised to learn he had a possible vision problem.

The results from the screening at school indicated Tyler had very poor vision in his left eye. Tyler was taken to see an ophthalmologist, who did extensive testing. During the testing, when the technician asked Tyler to read the chart, he said he could not see anything in his left eye. Tyler's mom, Jayne, was understandably upset that she had not noticed this problem herself. The doctor assured her that it was not her fault. He also told her that the eye screening program was of great help and saved her son's eye.

Tyler's screening indicated
anisometropia.

Tyler has undergone several exams and appointments in the treatment of his vision. Through his glasses and daily eye patching is doing very well.
